Easy Peony Project Class

Two - 2 1/2 hour sessions $75

In this two day class we will teach you how to make beautiful open and closed easy peony in just a few easy steps. These peonies will provide that WOW factor to your cakes! You will learn how to work with gumpaste, cut out & wire your peony and leaves, creating a realistic look to each flower, assembling & dusting your peonies with subtle, yet realistic shading.

Prerequisite - Course 3 or equivalent experience.

Below is the supply list for each day…

Day 1:

Gum Paste

9” rolling pin

Blue shaping pad or Wilton pink / purple pad

Peony cutter set (EBM)

Cutting wheel

Rose leaf veiner

Damp cloth

Shortening

Dusting puff (Cornstarch)

Wilton flower drying rack

Stamens (optional) can get that night

Metal ball tools

Cel Board (optional - but highly recommended)

Green wire - 24g, 26g, 20g

Wire cutters

Small needle nose pliers

Green floral tape

Small scissors

Juniper or Moss Green gel color for leaves

Gel color of your choice for your flowers

Wilton storage board or 2 practice boards

Small plastic cup to put your gum paste under as you work

Water pin

Box to take your flowers home

Wilton drying rack (if you have it, or the locker shelf from the store)

Day 2:

All dried flowers & leaves from day 1

Petal dust for your completed flowers - color of your choice

Assorted brushed to dust your flowers

Green floral tape

Plastic or copper 1/4'“ hose

Container to display your flowers
