Basic Decorating & Buttercream Skills

Four-2 hour sessions $60

Build buttercream skills you can use for all decorating projects – from cupcakes to cakes for any occasion. Whether you’re new to decorating or have been decorating for years, when you complete Course 1, you’ll be proud of the new techniques you’ve learned and ready to showcase them on your next project.

Day 1–- You will learn to:

  • Make icing and fillings
  • Torte, fill, and ice a cake
  • Practice basic icing star and round tip decorating techniques

We do not bake in class as we do not have ovens; however, we will provide simple step by step instructions for you to bake your best cake at home.

Day 2— You will bring in a cake that you baked at home as well as your icing and filling.  We will help you to torte, fill, ice and decorate your cake using the techniques learned in day 1.

Day 3— Cupcakes!

You will learn to core, fill, ice, and decorate professional looking and fun cupcakes.

Day 4— The Grand Finale’

You will bring in an iced cake as practiced on day 2.  You will decorate your cake with a basketweave pattern and ribbon roses.

No prior experience required.
